We meet with you to understand the key functionality your website requires. Functionality is the actions that visitors should be able to achieve on the website - like buying a product, creating a user profile or completing a form. We will also look at the top level sections of the website that make up the main navigation and how these link together. This forms a written brief which is broken down into costed parts.
Unless you are a completely new start-up, we review your current brand guidelines and marketing and help to understand how these should be used, boosted or refreshed. This includes typography, colour schemes, photography and graphics and writing style. We work with you to understand your industry and competitors to match best practice and step out ahead. Your visual design should be consistent across your digital marketing and so we can prepare design patterns for you that can be used on any device or platform.
We are flexible in our approach to reaching a design that you can sign off. It depends on your budget and how involved you would like to be. Some projects involve us researching and presenting several ideas others we work much more collaboratively, creating quick prototypes that you can see on screen and react to.
